July Trial

July 3, 4, and 5, 2009

The location of MGA's and the Specialty Lure Coursing events has to be changed due to the flooding of the field that was planned to be used. Currently about one third of the field is under water. The new location is 7 miles north of Jesse's property. Below are the directions to the new field.

440 E. Sutton Road
Metamora, MI 48455

No shade or water.  The venue is a hilly, freshly-cut hay field about 250 yards long and varies from 170 to 220 yards in width.  Bring your own shade. Bring your own water. Food will be available for purchase.

Friday:  Lure Coursing Specialties for Greyhounds, Ibizans, Ridgebacks, Salukis, and Whippets

Practice and Pre-certs

Saturday:  A hundred year tradition continues – or so it seems. MGA will hold its Saturday evening potluck and live auction fund raiser after the field trial.
MGA will provide the meats and a handful of dishes to pass. If you can bring something to pass, that would be wonderful.

As dinner winds down, we will hold our traditional live auction of items you have contributed.  Please bring a wrapped gift if you can that would be appropriate for a sighthound or sighthound owner – please indicate what breed it is for on the exterior of the package. Always fun, the auction frequently offers some real deals to bidders, so don’t be shy – and MGA makes a little money to upgrade equipment and put on future trials. Everybody wins.

Notice:  If you are planning to come with a MH or RV, contact Meg Willis-Redfern at redfern@cvm.msu.edu or 517-2828984 for reservations.

Practice Friday only weather and equipment permitting!

Pre-certs Friday and Saturday weather and equipment permitting.
